Kindergarten PALS scores were compared for 4 groups of students who attended kindergarten in Roanoke City Public Schools in Fall 2016: students who attended Smart Beginnings Greater Roanoke classrooms in SY 2015-2016 that were not affiliated with HS (SBGR only); students who attended Head Start classrooms in SY 2015-2016 that were affiliated with Smart Beginnings (SBGR+HS); students who attended Head Start classrooms in SY 2015-2016 that were not affiliated with Smart Beginnings (HS only) ; and all other RCPS kindergarten students (Others). Others may have attended preK in RCPS; other preKs not affiliated with either SBGR or HS, or attended no preK. As of this analysis, no information was available on preK attendance for these other students.
